Discover a true Southern treasure that adds grace and durability to a variety of construction projects, large or small. Commonly know as Bald Cypress or Southern Yellow Cypress, this beautiful specimen is iconic to the Southern landscape growing prolifically in low-lying wet areas along creeks or rivers with large swelled butts and “knees” that emerge from roots in surrounding waters. Extremely rot resistant and highly stable, cypress is classified as a hardwood even though it produces cones similar to pine.

Here at Heartwood, we sell only kiln-dried, NHLA inspected/ graded cypress. Only our beams and post are sold green. They come with a light texture from milling, but planing is available upon request.
